Built by one engineer who wanted a book to stay one book
Quillsmith began with a question: why does every writing tool forget the book the moment the chapter is long enough to matter?
A novel is hundreds of pages that have to agree with each other. Word processors keep the pages and know nothing of the agreement. Writing software either tells you how to write or hands you a chat window that has read nothing.
Quillsmith is written by one engineer, from a background in manufacturing rather than publishing, who wanted a system that treats a book the way a factory treats a product: every part known, every change traced, nothing assembled from memory.
Today every request the AI assistant answers is built from your own world: the characters, places and promises drawn from the manuscript, each with the paragraph it came from. What comes back is checked against the world, and what you keep is your call.
What we believe
Writer-first design
Every feature exists because a novel needed it, not because another kind of tool had it.
Your work, your rights
What you write stays yours. We claim nothing of what Quillsmith writes for you, and we never use your writing to train a model.
An assistant, not a replacement
The assistant should widen what you can write, not replace it. You decide every line that stays.
Shaped by its users
The roadmap is shaped by the people writing here.
